URGENT PROBLEMS:

PLEASE NOTE WE DO NOT OFFER A WALK-IN FACILITY

If you think you need to be seen URGENTLY on the day we ask that you always telephone us first so that a member of our Triage Team can assess your condition over the telephone and arrange a time for you to come in as soon as possible when you will receive the care you need.

Please call when possible before 10.30 am if you feel you need to be seen the same day; one of our clinicians will be available to deal with emergencies between 8 am and 6.30 pm.

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS:

For a routine appointment Monday to Friday we recommend clicking HERE to inform your GP what you would like the appointment for and we will contact you by the end of the next working day. Your GP may not need to see you and will be able to help you through a video or telephone consultation; you won't need to leave the house!

If you do not wish to use the above service please call us on 01273 492255 between 8:30 am-5.30 pm.

Appointments are available to book up to two weeks in advance and are scheduled to last 15 minutes. You will be asked for brief details of the reason for your appointment when booking; this is to enable us to give you an appointment with the most appropriate person.  You may express a preference of a doctor and we will do our best to accommodate, however, it will not always be possible to see the doctor of your choice.

There are a limited number of early appointments available for patients who wish to be seen before 8:00 am.

TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS:

The doctors are able to discuss problems over the telephone. If you need help or advice please telephone your doctor’s personal assistant (PA) who may be able to resolve the problem for you or alternatively may arrange for your doctor to call you back. You can find the relevant telephone numbers listed on the separate page above.

PRACTICE NURSES:

In a number of cases, it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.

CANCELLATIONS:

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.

IMPROVED ACCESS TO APPOINTMENTS

GP and nurse appointments are now available during the evening and at the weekend for people across Coastal West Sussex; these clinics are known as GP Access Hubs (GPAH).

This means that urgent appointments are available up to 8 pm during the week, and on a Saturday and Sunday.

The service is run by Innovations in Primary Care (IPC), a not-for-profit company owned by local GP practices.

The appointments will be available at local GP access hubs, run from GP surgeries, and they will be both routine and urgent appointments with a doctor, nurse or healthcare professional.

The teams will see new illnesses when you urgently need to see a health professional and offer planned appointments such as family planning and smear tests that can be hard to arrange whilst at work or when you are caring for family or a loved one.

You may be offered an appointment at one of the hubs at the weekend if you call NHS 111 for urgent health advice and support.

The hubs may be at your practice or they may be at a neighbouring GP practice locally in the community around you.

The teams will have access to your medical records with your consent, and any care they provide will be added to your notes so your GP practice can continue any ongoing care.

How to access these appointments?

Patients can book into these appointments by calling your registered GP practice in the normal way, and they will be able to access the booking system and make sure you receive the help and support you need.
