HMC Clinics and Services 

In addition to general medical consultations we are pleased to be able to provide specialist clinics and services covering the following areas: 

 

Annual Blood Test (formally your Passport)

This clinic is by invitation via email or text and is now just a blood test appointment. You may be asked to bring a urine sample to your appointment in a clean plastic container. 

We also ask that you take your blood pressure in our waiting room. 

 

Asthma

We have a trained asthma Nurse who holds frequent clinics.  Regular monitoring of asthmatics is recommended and you are advised to make an appointment at the surgery. You will receive an annual review invite if you are known to have Asthma. 

 

Blood Tests

 

Cervical Screening

You will be booked with one of our female nurses who are trained in cervical smear tests. If can opt to have a chaperone attending

Coil Fitting

This service is available at the surgery. Ladies considering a coil will need to collect a swab kit from reception and once returned they will be added to the waiting list and will be contacted once an appointment is available.  

 

COPD

 

Diabetes Clinic

All diabetics who are not regularly monitored at the hospital will be invited to attend this clinic annually.  Progress should be carefully monitored to reduce the long term risks associated with diabetes, such as heart disease and deteriorating eyesight.

Family Planning/Contraception

 

Health Kiosk 

Our self-service kiosk allows you enter Blood Pressure, HRT review and Pill Check data without seeing a nurse. It is located in reception

 

Implant Fitting

This service is available at the surgery. Ladies considering an implant will need to let a member of the reception team know or submit a request via Rapid Health and they will be added to a waiting list and contacted once an appointment is available.

 

Long Term Condition Clinics

 

Minor Illness Clinic

The Surgery has a well-equipped treatment room and some of the Partners are trained in a range of minor surgical procedures. One of the partners has had special training in the hospital Dermatology department.  Appointments for a minor operation will only be made after an initial consultation with one of the doctors.

 

MSK/Physiotherapy

We are fortunate to have Ryan, our First Contact Physio who can assess, triage and refer those with muscle, tendons, liagments and bones concerns. Please see our page NHS PHYSIOTHERAPY SERVICE

AAA (Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm)

Men are invited for a one-off ultrasound scan during the year they turn 65 to check for abdominal aortic aneurysm
